The Birka Historical Thread Winder resembles the historical version of the modern thread winder cards that embroidery thread is commonly stored on. Made of horn, this thread winder has one straight edge with three curved sides. Those sides form right corners but have concave cutouts in the middle of each side. In one of the corners of the straight edge, there is a hole. Historically, you would tie a thread through this hole to secure the thread while winding it up. The Birka Historical Thread Winder is fully functional. It makes a great collectible or display piece. It is also wonderful for use at historical reenactments.
Please be aware this is made from natural materials, therefore, it may vary slightly from above.
