They secure to the legs with straps. The greaves feature an overlapping design consisting of three plates. The top plate has a convex curved top edge. It curves up in the center over the knee. In addition, the plate features a lightly hammered finish. This plate has a pointed bottom edge. The edge points down towards the ankle.

Then, the plate below it has the same pointed bottom edge. The bottom-most plate is narrower than the top two. It has concave curved sides. The bottom edge also has a concave curve for moving the foot, which adds to the wearers mobility. All of the plates have rolled edges for safety.
